East Fishkill Information
An eastern portion of Fishkill NY, the Town of East Fishkill owes its name to Dutch settlers who dubbed the river that cuts through this Dutchess County hamlet Vis Kill or "stream of fishes." Although an early settler arrived in 1759, East Fishkill was not officially established until 1849.
East Fishkill NY is a 57.3 square mile expanse of parks, ponds, golf courses, Dutch colonial farmhouses and trails that stem from the great Appalachian Trail. In short, East Fishkill is one of the most rustically splendid in all the historic Hudson Valley.
